The AMR version of the Aston Martin Vantage is henceforth available with a seven speed Graziano manual gearbox, complete with a canine limb.
Like so.
You can look up tests online yourselves, but not all reviewers like it, finding seven speeds at least one too many and the doggie leg business rather demanding to get used to.

That 1-2 shift looks mighty inconvenient

Sometimes these test just focus ond so many wrong things.
1 I’m sure if you drive i regularly a dogleg is just normal
2 I’ m sure too that you can set of in second gear most of the time

The idea of a dogleg is that when you’re on a track you’re never using first gear, and the gearing is set up such that most of the time your shifts will be inline, (2 and 3, 4 and 5, etc), making shifts faster and reducing missed shifts.

Still less gears than any car in fast and furious

Even still, I think this car has enough power to make-do with 2nd gear even when pulling off

That makes sense, but the Vantage isn’t commonly on a track. Around town it would be a hassle. But you probably never need first with all that power anyway.

That’s what the Pistonheads review said: forget first and t reat it as a 6 speed . Apparently the low end torque is insane.

Best avoid things like this then.

This is what my truck looks like, and first is extra-low so I almost always start out in 2nd. It’s not difficult once you get used to it.
The reviewers that don’t like it are clearly weenies, and their opinion should not be trusted.

When I was looking for reviews of the Hyundai Accent I came across a Canadian car review website that tested each car for their ability to start in second. Always though that was cool

That pattern makes me think of a truck transmission with a granny gear.

Y ou just gotta roll all stop signs and time the lights good.
I’d like to drive one - I think I might prefer it, (or find out that they are stupid and hate it...)

Regularly driving two vehicles with wildly different (but old) clutches has paid off!

Dog leg master race
It really isn’t bad and I seamlessly go back and forth between different shift patterns.

Works for me. Just happy that you can get an AMG engine with a manual.
